Residue Wax

(Foots Oil) is the final byproduct in the production of paraffin wax, obtained after the pressing and de-coloring processes. It is a high-oil-content wax (approximately 50% oil) with a brownish color. Foots oil is derived from slack wax, specifically from the semi-refined paraffin wax production process.

Packaging:

Foots oil is typically packaged in new or used steel drums to prevent leakage during transport. Due to its high oil content, it is not transported in ISO tanks or flexi tanks, as it does not require heating for unloading and these luxury packings are not economically viable for residue wax.

Foots oil, with its wide range of uses, is a valuable byproduct that contributes to numerous industries, providing essential materials for both industrial processes and consumer products.

Grades:

  • Light: Lower viscosity and oil content.
  • Medium: Moderate viscosity and oil content.
  • Heavy: High viscosity and oil content, suitable for more heavy-duty applications.

Key Characteristics:

High Oil Content:

  • Contains around 50% oil, making it an oily, viscous substance.

Residue Wax:

  • The leftover material after the paraffin wax is extracted from slack wax.

Primary Uses:

Foots oil is highly versatile and is used across various industries due to its oily and waxy nature. Key applications include:

Matches Industry:

  • Utilized in the production of matches for its combustible properties.

Hydrophobia Impregnation:

  • Used in waterproofing materials.

Lubricants and Grease:

  • A key raw material in the production of industrial lubricants and greases.

Tire and Rubber Industry:

  • Employed in tire manufacturing and rubber products.

Shoe Sole Production:

  • Used as an ingredient in making durable shoe soles.

Plastic Industry:

  • Added as a processing aid in plastic manufacturing.

Additional applications include:

  • Adhesives and Sealants
  • Anti-freeze products
  • Coatings (for various surfaces)
  • Fillers, putties, and modeling clay
  • Inks, toners, and dyes (for printing and textile industries)
  • Leather treatment products
  • Lubricants in automotive systems (such as motor oil, brake fluids, and hydraulic liquids)
  • Plant protection products
  • Polishes and waxes (for various surfaces)

Environmental Considerations:

Foots oil is used in processes with both indoor and outdoor applications, including:

Indoor use as a processing aid

  • (e.g., cooling liquids in refrigerators or oil-based electric heaters).

Outdoor use in closed systems

  • (e.g., hydraulic liquids in automotive suspensions or lubricants in motor oil).
